MV Sycamore

The MV Sycamore is the relatively new Multirole Aviation Training Vessel for the Royal Australian Navy. The ship is run and maintained by a commercial company in support of Navy training activities.

I made a wooden plug of the hull, then a fibreglass mould and finally a fibreglass hull.

All of the superstructure was made from 1mm styrene sheet.

Decks were made from 3mm plywood covered by 1.5mm styrene sheet.

With a coat of paint the model really starts to come to life.
